ADF Grants

The Academic Distinction Fund accepts applications from April 3 to June 15, 2024.

Notifications will be sent out on July 27, 2024.

Awards will be presented on August 22, 2024.

Eligibility

While there are no restrictions on what can be purchased with ADF grant funds, it is preferable that the funds be used for sustainable projects and little spent on consumables.

Only one Classroom or Impact Grant may be submitted per teacher annually.

Projects should correlate with the district curriculum and be designed to increase student achievement.

Projects are to be implemented by the end of the 2023-2024 school year.

Student Achievement Grant Eligible Applicants: East Baton Rouge Parish public school employees directly working with students in an academic setting including classroom teachers, reading recovery teachers, math specialists, librarians, technology directors, deans of students, and counselors.

Impact Grant Eligible Applicants: Impact Grants include projects and programs that extend beyond a single classroom and may include collaborations between multiple teachers, multiple schools, and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. The project or program must directly impact East Baton Rouge Parish public school students and teachers.

Application

The application requires the following information:

Grant Type - Student Achievement Grant or Impact Grant

Applicant Information- Full Name, School, School Address, School principal, Phone Number, Email Address.

The Narrative should include a description of the challenge to be addressed, a description of the project including measurable outcomes, a timetable for execution, a plan for evaluation, and the number of students impacted.

The Budget should include a detailed project budget and narrative, including income sources and expenditures.

Letter of Support -The principal of the grant applicant's school must acknowledge through an email confirmation that a grant application has been submitted and that the project will move forward within the scope and timeline as submitted. The principal must also agree to serve as a point of contact for the final report.

I acknowledge that an ADF grant application has been submitted by <Teacher Name>, for <School Name>, and that the project will move forward within the scope and timeline as submitted. I also agree to serve as a point of contact for the final report. 

The email should be sent to grants@adfbr.org.

Report

A Final Report is required for all projects upon completion or at the end of the school year, whichever comes first. The report should include an accounting of expenses, including receipts, and a description of the project's outcomes and impact on student achievement. Photos and testimonials are helpful when possible. If a final report is not provided, the teacher and school are non-compliant and may not receive additional financial support.

Funding

The Academic Distinction Fund reserves the right to partially fund a grant if an application has merit, but the amount requested to accomplish the grant may be in question.
