ADF believes in strengthening school leadership not only in the classroom but also within administrative areas. Teachers, principals, reading coaches and other instructional specialists should be encouraged to broaden their teaching methods by traveling to different regions, studying other successful programs, seeking community involvement and participating in multiple learning experiences.
Leaders never stop learning. We are here to provide opportunities.
This year, ADF sent education leaders to the Boston public school district to study the multitude of successful programs they have initiated particularly the one involving literacy. Participants included teacher leaders, and principals, the EBRP literacy director, the EBRP professional development director, a school board member and several other community leaders. Attendees also had the opportunity to meet with professors and doctoral students from Harvard to discuss the future of educational leadership and the impact on teachers.
"I will always be grateful for the generous gift of $500 that allowed me to purchase my teacher supplies. It was so unexpected and endearing to my heart." Millie Soroe, Katrina Teacher
