Arts Grants for Pre-K Teachers
The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge and the Academic Distinction Fund are pleased to announce arts grants for Pre-K teachers. The purpose of this grant is to encourage Pre-K teachers to design and develop artistically creative and innovative projects involving the visual, dance and theatre arts that integrate into the core curriculum with an emphasis in English/Language Arts or Science. The grants will provide an opportunity to bring the arts to your students by bringing in professional teaching artists in theater, dance, and visual arts, to your classroom to implement your creative and innovative ideas. These projects can assist four and five year olds in school readiness by using the arts as a springboard for learning, increase learning in an arts discipline, help develop an understanding and appreciation for the arts, provide direct student involvement in the arts, develop permanent arts resources, integrate the arts into other academic disciplines or provide support for teachers to become more proficient in the arts. Applications are reviewed on a competitive basis with one grant round the 2011-2012 school year.
Eligibility: Any East Baton Rouge Parish public school Pre-K teacher directly instructing children is eligible.
